Georgia's Place OCV’s challenge at Georgia’s Place was to create an attractive, sustainable building featuring high grade finishes with very limited funding. The project provides 48 low-income individual and adults-living-with-special-needs studio living opportunities. It also allows for with communal dining and socializing, and on-site therapeutic interventions. Sustainable features include: Georgia’s Place brought together several City, State and Federal funding sources and won the support of the local community, which has expressed great regard for the building’s aesthetic contribution to the neighborhood. With its variegated brick façade, large expanses of glass and sunscreens, basketball court and plantings that are also enjoyed by neighbors, Georgia’s Place is a beacon in the community. |
